CHAPTER 13

Agent Blay walked over to the restaurant to get a table. He even looked over the menu and put in his order before they could join him. Jolene found this annoying. She thought he should have waited for them.

"Agent Haines, what is it with Agent Blay? Does he have some type of medical condition we don't know about?"

"Not that I'm aware of, but it would seem so, huh?"

"Yeah, it's like he has low blood sugar or something. Anyway, I guess we better make sure he gets three meals a day, so he has nothing to complain about."

Jolene was unhappy about the situation. They could have hit the store and found a place for the night and dinner so they could have been on to the next store.

"Jolene, maybe after this store we won't have to move on to the next one. We'll find answers here and with the wire-tap, we'll be able to wrap this one up. We've already found out more than the original investigation shows."

"Yes, I see we have followed up on all leads the police didn't follow up on. The autopsy on all of them they didn't even question anyone about. They took it at face value. Mr. Alfred had heart trouble, and he didn't. The Hannson's, just murdered by a home invasion thief. It still doesn't answer what they were looking for. In Helen's apartment, they stated someone followed her home and was looking for money, the same thing at the Hannson's."

"That's what's bothering me two. Agent Haines, would they issue new Bearer Bonds since the other three parties are dead?" Jolene asked.

"I'm not sure. I believe they would have to show the bonds some type of number or copies first. But, I know Bearer Bonds don't have names on them. Anyone who has one can cash it. They even asked no questions."

"Well, I don't buy it. What bothers me is the police did not find the Bearer Bonds, so did the intruder find them? How do we check to see if they cashed them in?"
